For 2025, UNESCO and WMO have announced the international year of glacier preservations. As glacier climate interactions, their retreat and its consequences have already been important in our previous conferences, we suggested that #IMC2025 will become an official event in the IYGP 2025. We meanwhile got the confirmation by both organizations and are about to develop ideas for respective events and contents. Of course we will be thankful for all proposals for sessions and workshops on this relevant topic (submission will open in October 2024) but also invite you to suggest any additional ideas you might have to the #IMC organizers (imc2025@uibk.ac.at).
